In this shmooze for Parshat Bamidbar, we will study the unique relationship between Hashem and the Nation of Israel. We will look at the Levi'im as they form a 'Machneh" of Tzadikim that numbers 22,000. What is the significance of this number? How does this Machneh on earth correspond to the Machne of Malachei HaShares up in the Higher worlds? The initiative of Klal Yirsrael & and the reciprocal love of the Shechina is the central theme of Hoshea in the verses that we read in the Haftora for our Parsha. We will study the Intro of the Netziv to Sefer Bamidbar, as well as the fundamental difference between the two accounting of Yisrael in this Sefer corresponding to the difference between Efraim & Menashe.
