Description

What is the nature of the unique obligation, assumed by the Chinuch and the ba'alei ha'mussar, of Kabalas HaTorah on Chag HaShavuos? This assumption of an obligation on Shavuot seems to be based on a statement of the talmudic statement regarding the danger of letting blood on Erev Shavuot. But how is this Kabala different from the twice daily obligation of Kabalas ol malchus shamayim? Based on what we heard from HaRav Moshe Shapiro, we will try to define Har Sinai as a unique revelation of the essence of God's creation and the essence of man. This is meant to lead to a new perspective on Torah and on the Aseres HaDibros, a perspective that should inspire us to renew our relationship to Torah, and elevate each of us to re-define our identity
