Why was the Kohen selected to play the exclusive role of diagnosing the affliction, declaring the Tumah, and leading the Tamei through the step by step process of Tahara? We will analyze three approaches to justify the unique selection of the Kohen & his role in Negaim, and finnaly we will offer a fourth approach based upon an understanding of the cause of the Nega and the Kohen's essential nature of the Kohen as a מברך who blesses the people of Israel באהבה, with love. We will analyze the nature of the Levi'im & their Midah of גבורה, in contrast to the midah of the Kohanim as חסד and Ahava. The love of the Kohanim is the love of the Jew; who is the Jew? What is his essence? The Orach Chaim HaKadosh finds the answer in the Parsha of Negaim.
