Description

When is the latest time for Kriat Shema shel Arvis, and when is the earliest Zeman for Kriat Shema shel shachris? The sugya analyzes the Halachik status of the period between Amud HaShachar and HaNetz HaChama. In this shiur we will study Tos' who postulates a contrast between universal Yom for all mitzvos and Yom for Kriat Shema. Tos' assumes that for all Mitzvot requiring Yom the earliest time is HaNetz. The Rashba objects based on a Mishna in Megilla which validates a mitzva that was fulfilled after Amud HaShachar. We will study the opinion of Rabenu Tam quoted in Yoma who equates K"S with other mitzvot and Yom begins with Alos. We will interpret Tos' & Rabenu Tam based upon two definitions of Yom Va'Layla as presented by the Rav zatza"l
