Description

In honor of Shvi'i shel Pesach we offer an analysis of the unique nature of the Shirat HaYam. Chazal speak about the permanent establishment of the Kingship & throne of Hashem was "suspended" until Bnei Yisrael recited שירה על שפת הים. At Yam Suf & not before, the nation experienced the Revelation of the Kingship of the Almighty. If we can unravel the unique & mysterious nature of the Shira we will understand why Moshe waited until the miracle of קריעת הים until he would initiate the Shira. The exodus itself - even as the culmination of a long series of supernatural aberrations of nature did not precipitate the recitation of shira. We will study the insights of the great Roshei Yeshiva & Ba'alei Mussar to understand why.
