Description

We will derive three conclusions from the opening section of Parshat Shemini: 1, even the great giants and outstanding Torah personalities care about what others say about them & we must be extremely careful about what we say about them. Aaron HaKohen was concerned that the people blamed him for not bring down the Shechina. 2, no one can know the level of Yirat Shamayim of the other, even of one's own beloved sons, as Aaron was comforted when Moshe told him that Nadav & Avihu were great Yirei Shamayim; 3, the significance of enthusiasm in the performance of Mitzvot. Aaron brings two Korbanot חטאת, but the Torah testifies that Aaron had the same excitement bringing the 2nd korban. Wine as an external stimulant of joy is unacceptable.
