Description
In Parshas TeTzaveh the Torah commands Aaron to bring 3 korbanos during the 7 days of Miluim, the Par LeChatas, the Ayil LeOlah, and a second Ayil Le'Shlamim. In Parshas Tzav the Torah records the fulfilment of this mitzva during YeMei HaMiluim. In this shiur we will analyze these Parshiot al pi Ramban, and we will demonstrate that the Ramban apparently contradicts himself twice! What is the objective of the second Ayil, the Aul HaMiluim? In one comment the Ramban assumes that the 2nd Ayil is an expression of gratitude; in a different place Ramban defines the Ayil as a כפרה for the Kohen. We will offer a new definition of כפרה based on Ramban in VaYishlach. Is the Par designed to sanctify the Mizbe'ach or as an atonement for the חטא העגל?
