Description

We begin our study of Maamar 3 of the Pachad Yitzchok for Shabbos, an analysis of the two meanings of the word שכר in Lashon Kodesh, on the one hand, in the secular sense the word means payment and the employee may be paid with any # of possible objects - objects that belong to the created, material world of the 6 days of creation. The same word has a different meaning in the dimension of sanctity, i.e. the reward for a mitzva, which is a new entity that belongs to the spiritual world created on day 7, an entity that is only meaningful for the Neshama Yeseira of the Shabbos. We will try to explain the meaning of Rashi that ויקדש אותו of Shabbos is reflected by the cessation of Manna on Shabbos. We will see that Manna belongs to two worlds.
