Description

In this Drasha for Pesach, we will study a unit of three verses in Shemot Chapter 4 that teaches that the people believed in Moshe when Moshe presented himself as the גואל. We will study the statements of Chazal regarding the secret code פקוד פקדתי which was transmitted from the Avos thru the generations. The Dvar Avraham in his Drasha raises a number of questions regarding this Medrash. Was the "code" public knowledge? How could Moshe prove his status as the appointed גואל? In this Drasha we will learn about the challenge Bnei Yisrael faced in believing that after only 210 years of Galut in Mitzrayim it was the ripe moment for GeUla. Moshe expected that the People would not accept his answers to the questions they were bothered by.
