Gemara Taanis: We asked Hashem to have a relationship with him like rain. But Hashem responded that it wasn't a good request because rain is sometimes asked for and sometimes not, so instead he gave created with us a constant relationship like that of Dew ("Tal"). The Beis Yaakov explains that dew is constant and that in this relationship really everything is in Hashems hands and all we can do is sit back and pray to Hashem. Dew comes in such a hidden way that it appears that one doesn't need to daven to Hashem like a child who knows his mother is always there for him and therefore takes her for granted. In every Jewish soul lies this constant prayer to Hashem which creates this constant relationship with him too.
