Description

From Mei Marom (Pesach, 19), pp.89-91. We all have certain natural inclinations that impart on our choices in the world. Most of the time, we are shameful of our nature and choose to forget who were are at our core. A Jew's natural inclination is for God and towards holiness. The degree to which this is evident in a person's life is determined by the choices we make. The Exodus was the moment of of implantation of the redemptive idea, from which all redemptions are rooted. Since the Exodus, a Jew was always internally free. This means that a Jew's natural longing for God never ceases. Simultaneously, we need to direct our wild animal side towards godliness and holiness, not neglect it. Recognizing our Godly nature is the first step.
