Description

In order to get to Pesach we have to pass by way of the karbanos. Midrash says "when the karbanos are brought we will read the pasuk of “Tzafonah lifnei hashem”, and by way of that pasuk, hashem will remember Akeidas Yitzchak." When breaking the matzah and hiding the larger piece, it means that a person in life is broken as his neshama descends into this world. Just like on Pesach we look for the larger piece so too in life we search for the bigger piece of whom we are. Who we really are is sometimes hidden by the evil inclination. The Yetzer Hara causes this confusion to hide the bigger part of us. It is possible that one can do all the mitzvot but until we give ourselves like a karban completely to Hashem we aren't true servants of Hashem
