Description

Pages 31-32 in Maimar Hador, Rav Kook discusses two different ways of controlling the Yetzer Hara. There is the way of attacking it and locking it in a cage. And then there is the way that Rav Kook says is important for the young generation of controlling your Yetzer Hara and using our inner strengths to direct our actions towards good. In the older generation the way of "prisha"(separating) may have worked but for us the ikar is to of course have fear of Hashem but also to flip our bad actions to good. The younger generation was not interested when being told all the "Don'ts" and Issurim. They felt that derech was like slavery. They wanted to be free and Rav Kook felt the second approach towards the Yetzer Hara would be helpful.

Shalom guys, just a quick note--I was enjoying this lecture/audio by Rav Weinberger, but i noticed that it says it's about 51-minutes-long yet it is only about HALF that long---I have also noticed this on *many* other audio-lectures, it causes quite a bit of confusion, can you please fix it?--THANK you, KEEP up your great work, Blessings, Rob_Mykoff
