Description

In this shiur we will study the Laws of Megilla reading, and focus on the two obligations: Megilla by night, Megilla by day, and the relationship between them. Are these classified as מדברי סופרים או מדברי קבלה? We will examine a number of Nafka Minot regarding someone who can only hear one of the two reading, as well as someone who is in doubt as to the nature of his obligation, and how early can one read the Megilla at night. We will address the tricky question: can a פרוז who observes Purim on the 14th read the Megilla on behalf of a מוקף who observes the 15th? Do the two readings integrate to form one single mitzva, or do they remain two independent Mitzvot? Is there a "makeup" Megilla reading for someone who missed reading at night?
