Description

The Mishna records the controversy between R' Yossi HaGlili & R' Akiva regarding zimun. Does the size of the gathering at a seuda determine the Nusach (the language) of the representative of the 'chabura' who invites the 'kahal' to bench together. Tos' points out that even R' Yosi admits to R' Akiva that in the Beit HaKnesset where the Shaliach Tzibbur invites the 'kahal' to respond to 'barchu' there is no difference between 10 and more than ten. We will formulate R' Yossi's premise that the 'kvius seuda' links together the Kahal even beyond the #10. What links together the Tzibbur for Tefilla? It is Kaddish which can only be recited BeTzibbur. Whereas 'Barchu' creates a Tzibbur for אמירת שבח & the recitation of Birchat Kriat Shema.
