Description

The difference between the obligations of the individual versus the community, reflective in the two types of chesed sources. -- Why would marrying off orphans be a higher priority in tzedaka? 1) A married woman has better financial support. 2) The many mitzvot attached to marriage, and the more important mitzvot as well. 3) There is a severe sense of lack here, even though they never had it in the first place. -- How things change if it is not orphans, but poor sons and daughters. -- The Steipler and the concept of steady support system, as well as how one is allowed to go beyond the need to restore someone to better standards than when they started.
