As we established in yesterday's shiur there are two distinct purposes of the Yeridas haMan. The manna would come down because of Hashem's compassion; and in order to "rectify" the sin of Bnei Yisrael when they complained so bitterly against Moshe Rabenu. In this shiur we will analyze the objective of the Manna in and of itself, i.e. independent of the sin of the complaint of Klal Yisrael. The verses seem to present two different reasons: 1) LeMaan Anesenu; 2) LeHatifcha BeAchrisecha. The Ramban combines these two reason which seem to be totaly independent of each other. We will try to integrate these reasons into one indivisible whole. Based on the insights of the Shalmei Nachum we will try to explain the name Bnei Yisrael in this Parsha.
