Bo Yitro

Description

Hashem carries the People on the wings of eagles. Let us understand when and where did this miraculous journey take place? Rashi seems to contradict himself. Whereas in Yitro Rashi assumes that Hashem miraculously gathered Bnei Yisrael together from the far corners of Eretz Goshen to Ramses, Rashi in Bo explains that Hashem miraculously brought Bnei Yisrael from Ramses to Succos. In this shiur we will analyze the objection to Rashi raised by the Netziv and the defense of Rashi offered by the Divrei Yirmiyahu. We will study the Ibn Ezra & try to determine what "Ramses" refers to. We will try to appreciate the ascent of the People from Mitzrayim to the Midbar, and the deeper meaning of the word 'Succos'.
