I understand why you would continue your own count when crossing the dateline. But how can you then say that you keep Shavuos like everyone else? Marking Chag Hashavuos on the same night you count the 49th day of the Omer (or to wait till the 51st night, depending on which direction you're going) is the ultimate logical absurdity. The very essential definition of Shavuos is that it if the 50th day of the Omer?
