Description

How do we repair our relationship with Hashem on Rosh Hashana? Hashem relates to us in three ways: like a father to a son, like a king to his subjects, and like a groom to his bride. We abandoned our father in heaven. We disobeyed our king. We were like a wife who lost her feeling for her husband. In Elul, we return to our father in heaven. On Rosh Hashana we nominate Hashem as our king. On Yom Kippur we repair our lost love. At times we doubt our relationship with Hashem, but on Yom Kippur we remove all doubt. If we loved Hashem as much as Belzer Rebbe loved his deceased Rebbetzin, Moshiach would be here.
