Description

Please refer to the first shiur in this series for the source text. A possible source for the opinion of the Yere'im. Comparing a time-unspecified loan (i.e., 30 days) to shvi'is (the 7th year). The mitzvah (commandment) seems to be the "utterance" of the words: meshamet any (I relinquish my right to this loan). Does the creditor initiate "I relinquish" or does he wait for a borrower who wants to pay. What if the creditor demands payment after shmita (the 7th year) has passed?
