Tikkun HaMalchus (fixing Kingship) is the main work of Rosh Hashana, which starts with fixing the middos (character traits). Any small growth and tiny work on a good middah does a big tikkun. We have to come into Rosh Hashana with simcha and a plan to work on one particular middah. The Zohar says that conversation between Elisha and the Shunamite woman took place on Rosh Hashana. When it is a time of din (judgment) in the world, do not make yourself separate from Am Yisrael. In the root of the higher world is Knesset Yisrael, the collective soul of the Jewish people, which is an aspect of Malchus. The revelation of the oneness of Am Yisrael happens in Eretz Yisrael, while outside of the land, Jews are more like a collection of individuals. On Rosh Hashana we have to work on unity.
