Description

A time for the gates to Yerushalayim and G-d to open. The natural desire to look our very best when we appear before the King. What is the connection between the mitzvah (commandment) of shki'chah (forgetting [leaving forgotten produce in the field]) and this time of remembering? The many mitzvos which have fallen by the wayside, which we have forgotten. Makeup, plastic surgery and photoshopping - ways to alter reality. The only ways to approach the gates is with humility and a sense of being impoverished. The less we are filled with ourselves, the more room we have to be filled with Hashem. A sensitized person is shaken by how much of himself he has forgotten.
