Description

Based on Nevei Tzadikim Haggadah from Manavstritcher Rebbe's son. How is it possible that Bnei Yisrael were told to eat the Korban (sacrifice) Pesach with the shoes on their feet when we know that at a time of the Sh'china's (divine) revelation, we are not allowed to wear shoes (e.g., Moshe Rabeinu at the bush, the priestly blessings). Why do we call Jewish servitude "sh'ibud malchius" (servitude to [multiple] rulers) - in the plural, when we can only be subservient to one king at a time. The many things in life we make ourselves subservient to... some wonderful, like spouse and children, others detrimental, e.g., when we can't live without our Shabbos nap even if we are late for davening or don't spend time with our children. Freeing ourselves from our physcial needs [this doesn't mean that we can enjoy things - but we cannot be enslaved to them]. The delusion of life that is called "Chometz." Step one, therefore is: stop wanting and needing it so much. step two of not being enslaved is to utilize what we have in the good and proper way.
