Description

Utilizing an essay from the sefer Mesame'ach Tzion (an explanation of teachings by the Kedushas Levi) by R' Ben-Tzion Appel. What is it that our avos (forefathers) have given us? What is it that separates a ben-Yisrael (Jew) from a ben-Noach (gentile)? Secular and non-Jewish wisdom (especially in the field of psychology) may be brilliant, and it can and does apply to a Jew, but never to the pnimius (innermost level) of the Jewish neshamah. Our continued existence as a nation in this world can only be explained by the fact that Hashem implanted within us a super-human neshamah. Sometimes, however, we must utilize secular, intellectual knowledge before we can even get to working with out neshamah. Connecting back all the way to our forefathers and mothers.
