Description

There are two sources in the Torah for learning Torah, one between parent and child, and the other between grandparent and child. A parent teaching Torah to a child is likened to mesorah (passing down the tradition), while a grandparent teaching a grandchild is likened to Maamad Har Sinai (standing at Mt. Sinai). Seeing causes a powerful effect throughout our entire body, even affecting our furthest extremities. We should learn Torah with the same trembling and fear that we experienced at Sinai. When the Aron HaKodesh (Holy Ark) was hidden away, it's effect did not disappear, it only became concealed. The chuppah is re-enactment of the receiving of the Torah at Sinai. Shallowness and superficiality are the greatest sicknesses today.
