Description

Iyov (Job), is the quintessential incomplete tzaddik, and the ideal non-Jew. The holiness of Jew is likened to a foundation, sometimes hidden from the eyes of others. Depth, perception, meaning, and purpose are not found in the world with physical eyes. The sun has the illusion of independence like Iyov, while a Jew looks to our Source, like the moon. Iyov loses faith in Hashem while suffering and longs for the foundation of a Jew. The yesod (foundation) of a Jew cannot be touched and has always baffled our enemies.
