Description

Because the generation is idealistic and trying to be more yashar, there is hope for them to be influenced by the Torah. Throughout most of Jewish history, there were people who wanted to leave the Torah life, but their desire to leave was to indulge in personal taivas. Their Judaism was small, and so their life outside of Judaism was small. The young people were rebelling not from katnus, but from a desire for gadlus. In previous generations, the ruchanius was concentrated in the few tzaddikim, but in this generation, the masses are interested in it, so it is spread out to them. Thus, the Gedolim are smaller, but the average Jew is bigger. Some tzadikim mashpiah directly and others indirectly. Kedusha is seeking for those who want her.
