Description

From Shevet MiYehudah (Chanukah) of Reb Avramaleh Eiger. On Shabbos Chanuka all Jews become members of the sanctuary, but specifically on the 4th night, the night of Reuven. The name Reuven can either mean "see, son" or "the light of the son". Therefore, even though the Greeks came to defile the Jewish people and no matter what we've done in our lives we can return because we're returning to our father. Chanuka, the time of shining our light to those still "outside," helps all find the doorways inside. During the six days of the week we're all standing outside, but on Shabbos we enter through the opening to delight in the light of Shabbos.
