Description

Based on the Ma'amar "Ein Yei'ush Ba'Olam' p 230 in the sefer "Yichud Hahisbodedus" by Rav Avraham Tzvi Kluger What is the definition of yei'ush (despair)? What about a Jew who completely believes in Hashem, believes that everything in his life is exactly the way it should be, and in accordance with Hashem's will - yet he is unhappy with his life? Numb and having lost the ability to cry. Emotional paralysis for fear of facing long-hidden events. Pain and despair that is hidden from others, and often from himself, too. Halachic (legal) yei'ush - coming to terms with the situation, letting go, giving up. An internal decision: I'm not even going to try anymore, I'm done fighting, it is what it is.
