Yaakov Avinu (our forefather Jacob) corresponds to shalashudis (third meal on Shabbos). Yaakov taught and gave us the ability not to get stuck in the things of this world. During shalashudis we have the clarity between what things in our lives should be permanent and what should be temporary. Shalashudis time, we are given the opportunity to break ourselves away and remind ourselves what the world is all about.
