Tisha B'av (9th day of Av) is a day of meeting between us and Hashem. Leidas Moshiach (birth pangs of the redeemer) symbolizes the ability for us to redeem ourselves. Tisha B'av is really a day of encouragement. During the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash (Holy Temple) the cheruvim (Golden Cherubs) embraced each other symbolizing G-d's love for us. Every Tisha B'Av contains all the consolement from all prior Tisha B' Av's. G-d appointed a special yetzer hara (evil inclination) to take away Hashem's encouragement.
