Description

P. 220. The neshama (soul) or guf (body) cannot be ignored or denied. The whole goal of marriage is to be echad (one), a goal that only the neshama understands. Marriage is the biggest nisayon (test). Before marriage, we imagine that marriage is supposed to be all about fun, but in reality it is hard work. Everybody discovers something shocking about their spouse. When we doubt that our spouse is our zivug (soul mate), it shows lack of emunah (faith), which comes from the guf. If there is a line of connection between neshama and guf, a person can get along with their spouse and can receive the nisyonos (tests) of marriage with simcha (joy) and ahava (love).
