Description

Page 190. It is not the ratzon (desire) of Hashem to get so lost in our self that we become unhinged from reality. Sometimes we realize sadly that all we have built is outside of our self. We need to connect to our inner self - the "ani" buried deep within. We are not in the habit of thinking anymore. We live in a world of pressing buttons and googling. The tachlis (purpose) of learning Torah is to learn from within ourselves - to develop original thought. Teenagers wearing outlandish "things" is a statement of the person that I am I and you are you and I do not want to be like you. A sign of maturity is continuing to grow while not hurting others. We delude ourselves by imagining external symbols to make a statement - this is "me." We must strive to develop original thought that is within us.
