Page 6. Hashem, as the Source of all brachah, is infinite; as much as He gives others or me, there always is much more - this we must only contemplate intellectually, but accustom ourselves to feel in our neshamah. Jealousy can only exist in the finite, limited world of the body; it has no place in the world of the neshamah. Anger, with which a person is murdering his own soul. Children are most deeply affected by anger; it destroys absolutely everything that we work for so hard to have in this world in kedushah and gashmius; it is like a foreign god. What exactly is it that makes anger so much worse than anything else? The way to combat anger requires G-d-consciousness. In a fit of anger, a person's mind is completely taken over by some outside force, which causes him to be compared to somebody who worships an idol. The relationship that I have with Hashem has to be more important to me than whatever that issue which caused me to become angry! Thinking about Hashem, multiple times throughout the day, is the absolute remedy against kaas. Pride is the notion that I can take pride in something that is not of my own making, even if I did have a hand in the success I have accomplished.
