Description

Ramchal writes that main purpose of our existence is to draw ourselves closer to Hashem. We should pursue anything that we feel brings us closer to Hashem. The words, "this is a grey area" are from the sitra achra (evil side). Just "standing still" is not bringing us closer to our goal of devkus in Hashem. We must know in which direction we are travelling. Desires of this world cannot compare to coming closer to Hashem. We can fake being "religious" but our children really know what our values are. The one who says I have the best of both worlds has nothing. The real "tov" (goodness) of our life is to feel our closeness with Hashem.
