Begin with a simple thought- roll it over and over again and again, simply and consistently. We must search our heart to determine if there is a doubt whether we really live with God inside oour kishkes (guts). G-d is on the outside layer of the heart but cannot compete with the inside layer of the heart. Our hearts have unbelievable roadblocks. Language of the heart is simplicity- there is a Creator of the World.
