Description

After analyzing our motives for doing a mitzvah, we should speak with Hashem “Master of the World, I know that I am acting superficially. Please help me so that the only true motive for the mitzvah will be to please You, and not for vain reasons!” Our avodah is to change the percentages by increasing the lishmah (selflessness) and decreasing the lo lishmah (selfishness). Our avodah will become much easier, because the lishmah will be the predominant force in our soul, and we will naturally think a great deal throughout the day in a manner of lishmah.
