Description

Most of us do not sense that we have a true will to do the will of Hashem. We are focused on the self — “What will we get out of this?” Nothing can make a Jew happy except doing the ratzon of Hashem. We have to lift ourselves out of the place of selfishness. The root of being able to change is to believe in the nekuda (point) of emunah (faith) within ourselves. There are three stages in awakening this feeling in the heart: 1) to awaken this power by contemplating that it exists; 2) to have emunah in the heart, which is attained through much speech; 3) tefillah that this ratzon will emerge from the potential to the actual. We must awaken the feeling of “our will is to do Your will” in our neshamah (soul), and then we can fight against the evil we face.
