Description

Our challenge is to find the 'I' under conflicting ratzonos (desires). We must have a will and desire for the tov (good). Before we can fight the yetzer harah (evil inclination), we need to know who we are and what we really want. The first avodah (work) is to generate a stronger and deeper ratzon opposite the ratzon of the yetzer harah. Working on food issues is an effective training ground to try out this method. It is possible to die from not having a desire fulfilled. Taking away a nekudas hachaim (a thing that gives a person life) from a person is like killing him. True life comes after we get rid of the false things upon which we base our lives.
