Description

It is possible to have a very great desire to be close to Hashem and to feel that sinning does not contradict this. The avodah (intense spiritual effort) of acquiring true desire is the root foundation of our effort to come closer to G-d. The most effective method for strengthening our ratzon (desire) is through hisbodadus (solitude) by speaking with Hashem directly. We can attach ourselves to a tzaddik (righteous person) until we can inspire ourselves. All of our daily activities should be considered as to whether they bringing us closer or distance ourselves to Hashem. We should accustom ourselves to be refined and quiet in order to acquire yirah.
