Description

We do not control our lives and therefore we should not get upset by things that happen in this world. We still need to put in our hishtadlus (effort), but if something doesn’t work out the way we want we have to realize that everything is "up to Hashem". The only thing we really have control over is our relationship with Hashem. Even though we know that Hashem controls everything, our hearts are closed so we get fixated on stupid things and don’t live with this knowledge. We have a very short retention span. The way to internalize that Hashem controls everything is to continually say out loud that we didn’t really decide anything in our lives.
