Description

Even though G-d is always close to us, we don’t feel His closeness because we don’t see Him. The problems we have in our religious lives come from the lack of feeling close to G-d. Little children feel closer to Hashem because they don’t have issues. Adults have egos and desires and can lose sight of Hashem feeling close to Hashem. We are all called the children of Hashem, and are therefore always close to Him. The closeness Yaakov and Yoseph had after seeing each other for the first time, can be reached by all of us all the time with Hashem. The love we feel for our children is only a way to describe Hashem’s love for us in human terms, but really Hashem loves us much more. We can reach a level where they are constantly close to Hashem, in a way that would be impossible to maintain in human relationships.
