Description
Rav Kook's Ma'amar "Al pnimius haTorah." p. 322. Beyond just understanding the pnimius (inner secrets) of Torah, we need chachamim (wise persons) who can impart these teachings to the next generation. The great joy when our learning of pnimius transforms our daily life, the way we interact with our children and our shalom bayis (peace in the home). The deep esoteric issues in Torah must be grounded in every day life, in respect for others, kindness, in every aspect of our behavior. Pnimius haTorah does not diminish our everyday life, but broadens our perceptive abilities and awakens additional practicality and thoughts. Many people talk about how it should be, what it should be, etc., but very few actuall DO; a great example of translating potential into actuality is the work of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, z'tl - tzivos (the armies of) Hashem. There is no contradiction between lying under a sink to fix a pipe and having a deep discussion about a Torah from the Kedushas Levi or a Gemara the next moment.
