Description

Rav Kook's Ma'amar "Al pnimius haTorah." p. 321. Yiddishkeit without Hashem is not complete, does not have kavod (honor). Our recognition of Hashem needs to be strong, alive, and mature. The whole purpose of the minhagim (customs) established throughout history was to help us connect to Hashem. We must learn the wisdom of emunah every day. All the neshama wants to do is go from narrowness to expansiveness. If the tzaddikim are in spiritual prison, then they will not be able to help the neshamas that are freed from the prison. Freedom can unfortunately lead to throwing away Torah and mitzvos.
