Description

Rav Kook's Ma'amar "Al pnimius haTorah." p. 319. Stuck in the old way of teaching and educating. Can a person run away from himself and the deepest needs of the soul? Not everyone feels this need. What happens when a great neshamah (soul) is pushed away. The "novel" concept of believing in Hashem. The desperate and needy man of our times. Having great ability in learning and understanding, yet not acting properly on those abilities, can lead to awful consequences. The greater the person whose spiritual needs are unfullfilled, the greater the potential for terrible nefillos (despair and failure); especially if his teachers and parents only push him away and merely say "don't," without providing the proper spiritual nourishment.
