Description

Rav Kook's Ma'amar "Al pnimius haTorah." p. 318. The need to bring ourselves and the entire world to hashkafos (outlooks) that are complete, healthy, and fully explained. The underlying cause of this generation's collapse in matters of faith and the midos (character traits) of being a Jew come from a lack of understanding their content and true essence. Afraid to learn pnimius (inner) haTorah because I might "miss out" on my meat and potatoes of Shas (talmud) and Shulchan Aruch, the revealed Torah. What gets the kids going? Even those who COULD teach pnimius haTorah are not learning it in sufficient numbers, and thus our children are not learning it. There exists a spiritual, a soul-emptiness that cannot be filled with secular or even holy nigleh (revealed) knowledge. Are the Rebbeim teaching our children what they need, or only what they know how to teach. The great, yet wasted potential of the great talmidei chachamim of Eretz Yisrael. The natural food our neshamos (souls) need.
