This learning is likened to walking through a rainy day, when you see everything wet, but no new plant growth yet visible. Piece 13 - When learning pnimius haTorah (the inner dimension of Torah) it can be difficult to focus on the Gemara and halacha and the 'dark places' in Torah. In revealed Torah, you can feel good when you understand an idea, but with the hidden Torah, there is always a feeling of awe and silence. There is still a fear that learning the hidden Torah will distract a person from learning the revealed. It can be very dangerous to go with the yetzer hara that wants a person to disconnect from the details of Torah. When a person holds himself back and learns the revealed Torah when he really wants to learn the secrets, there is a tremendous revelation of Hashem's chesed (love and giving) in the world, and he sweetens judgments.
