Description

Perek 9, Piece 13. There are Jews who are called me'ayenim ruchanim (deep spiritual seers) who seek out the clear practical halacha (Jewish law) in the Gemara instead of being sidetracked in pilpulim (intricate minutiae). The Rishonim were concerned with working on middos (character traits) and having clarity in learning. When you are young it is important to learn to think like Chazal (sages). Many ba'alei teshuvah tend to be more naturally attracted to the classic Sefaradi style of learning. Certain big Moshiach-level neshamos (souls) feel tremendous pain when forced into pilpul learning. There is no greater pain than a great light that is being held back. The halacha always went according to Dovid HaMelech because Hashem was with him.
