Description

Perek 9, Piece 4. Rav Kook wanted us to have clarity, specifically bringing our learning to practical halacha. There is a great simcha (joy) in the heart when having clarity in halacha. Clarity comes through halacha. All of the masters of the secrets of Torah were also masters of halacha. Lack of clarity can lead to a feeling that halacha is a heavy burden. People with a broad perspective understand how all the details of halacha fit into the big picture. The degree that we recognize the exaltedness of a concept and how it all fits together, is the extent that we are careful with all of the pratim (details) that come out of that shoresh (root). During the times of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, we should want to be part of the Klal (collective), to a community. The tzadikim feel the pain of imbalance within the Jewish people. One aspect of Torah lishma (for its' own sake) is to see how all of the halachic details fit into the whole picture.
